ABOUT YWAM

WE ARE A YOUTH MISSIONS MOVEMENT

WHY ATLANTA?

MISSIONS SENDING
HUB

Atlanta International Airport has been the busiest airport in the world 26 years in a row - making Atlanta a perfect strategic missions sending location.

LOCAL OUTREACH

Reaching into our local neighborhoods with the gospel is a rhythm and value for our ministry. Joining YWAM Atlanta means you don't wait until you get on a plane to share the gospel. We are Gospel Messengers wherever God leads us.

THE NATIONS IN OUR BACKYARD

Clarkston is considered "the most diverse square mile in America" and is home to thousands of refugees. The local high school has 47 languages represented and ready to be engaged.

POSITIONED FOR GROWTH

As a pioneering team, we are able to grow and adapt while still providing years of experience and leadership to sustain the fruitfulness and growth God is bringing.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS

We are deeply grateful for partnerships across the city with organizations, local churches, and missions agencies all working to accomplish the Great Commission.

THE STORY OF YWAM ATLANTA

YWAM Atlanta started in 1989 when Greg and Ramona Musch with their 3 young children, took a step of faith to pioneer a YWAM ministry in the city. Since the first DTS in 1991, YWAM Atlanta has held many training schools and sent teams to every continent of the world.

In 1996 YWAMer’s and Kings Kids gathered for a massive outreach of more than 12,000 people to the Olympics held in Atlanta. YWAM Atlanta quickly became a sending base and place of mentorship for new leaders under the eldership and leadership of Greg and Ramona. Since starting in 1989, many bases and works have been pioneered through YWAM Atlanta.

Over the years YWAM Atlanta has been involved in many different types of ministry throughout the city. Ministry has included work in our urban city center, as well as a more recent focus in a suburb called Clarkston which has seen more than 60,000 refugees resettled in the last two decades.

Our current YWAM Atlanta team is excited to continue to build upon the foundation that YWAMers have built over the last 30 years in our city. We have recently begun to re-pioneer our training programs with DTS taking place in historic Stone Mountain Village and our SBS located in Smyrna. What we are excited to see multiplied is integrating our training of missionaries and our ongoing local outreach. What better way to prepare for a long overseas outreach than to serve locally as you grow in your faith? We believe God is calling us to neighborhoods and nations to know Him and make Him known!

God has been rekindling our hearts for what He wants to do in Atlanta and the nations through this next generation. We believe Atlanta is a strategic location to see revival and that this region will become a major place of sending for the next wave of missionaries!
